Bye-Bye Summer
Time sure does fly when you’re having fun! I don’t know about you, but this summer went fast—from camping trips to family reunions there was never a spare minute! But as a car expert, I know that all this extra driving can take a toll on your vehicle. In case you had a busy summer like me, I wanted to share some car care tips you might find helpful as we head into fall.
Check Your Oil — You should change your oil every 5,000 to 7,500 miles. When’s the last time you checked your mileage? If it’s been awhile, I get it. Sometimes it’s hard to keep track of that number during the busy summer. But today’s a great day to check-in and get back on track.
Refill Your Washer Fluid — Washer fluid is always there for you, until it runs out…Instead of letting it sneak up on you, take a few minutes to check your washer fluid level and refill if needed. You’ll thank yourself the next time you’re driving down a buggy road at night.
Clean It Out — When we’re busy, the family vehicle tends to get messy. But now that summer’s coming to a close, I find it’s a good time to clean out all the food containers, forgotten trash and any dirt that was left on the floor of my car.
Under Pressure — Your tires literally hold up your vehicle, so it’s good practice to check the tire pressure on your vehicle every couple of months just to make sure everything is still in tip-top order. Properly inflated tires decrease road risks and increase fuel efficiency.
Hope these car maintenance tips serve you well as we say goodbye to summer and usher in the start of fall.
