Lean, Mean Cleaning Machine
It’s that time of year again. The chill is starting to leave the air and we’re getting a little more sunlight each day. But with spring also comes the annual ritual of spring-cleaning.
It may not seem like the most fun way to spend a weekend, but researchers have shown that spring-cleaning can have a positive impact how healthy you are, your ability to focus and even how happy you are.
Here are a few quick tips to help you get through the work faster, so you can start enjoying the thaw sooner.
Start At The Top
Always start at the top of the room, dusting light fixtures, fans and the ceiling, and work your way down. That way any dust you stir up will land on parts of the room that you haven’t cleaned yet.
Break The Job Up
There are lots of ways to break up the job of spring-cleaning. Many people break the job up by rooms, but you can also break it up by tasks. For instance, dusting, organizing, laundry, etc.
Work Around The Clock
No, I’m not talking about staying up to the wee hours of the morning in order to get the house clean. Instead, each room you start cleaning, start in a corner and work clockwise. That way you’ll be sure not to miss anything.
Make It A Family Event
Spring-cleaning is a big job, but there’s something that everyone can help with. Recruit the whole family to help out with the task, and you’ll be done in no time. Consider establishing a reward like a family movie or pizza night when the work is done.
Those are all the tips I have for now. Good luck and don’t forget to clean out the garage!
