One Mother Of A Celebration
With Mother’s Day right around the corner, I was looking for a fun way to celebrate all the wonderful mothers I know, then suddenly, I was struck with a mother of an idea, a Mother’s Day Tea Party! But I knew an idea like this was too good to keep to myself, so I I’m sharing my best tips for planning the perfect Mother’s Day Tea Party.
First things first, don’t forget to send out invitations. You don’t need anything fancy, just make sure everyone you wanna invite knows the time, location and dress code of your party. Speaking of dress code, encourage people to come in their Sunday best. Pearls, button down shirts, elegant hats, cufflinks and pastel colors will help make the event feel more elegant.
Keep the elegant theme going with stylish decorations. Fresh spring flowers, like tulips, are a great way to liven up any room. While accents like white doilies, tiered trays and beautiful tea sets will make the party feel high-class.
Speaking of tea sets, just because it’s a tea party doesn’t mean you can only serve tea. If a lot of people at your party don’t like tea, consider serving coffee instead. Likewise, if you have a lot of kids at your party, consider also serving hot-chocolate or steamed milk. You can put whatever you want in your teapot; it’s your party!
The same goes for the food. You can serve the traditional finger sandwiches, scones and fruit if you want, but you can also go crazy and order appetizers from your favorite restaurant or prepare your favorite finger foods. Just make sure you have enough food to make sure no one goes home hungry.
Lastly, make sure you have fun! Play peaceful music in the background to create a relaxing atmosphere and give people plenty of room to mingle around the room. And remember, no matter how you plan your Mother’s Day Tea Party, make sure all the moms invited feel extra loved on their special day.
